Amelia Talks

Hello My Lovelies and welcome back to my blog, hope you're all doing great. This blog post is an impromptu post that I never expected to write this because I never expected it in the first place.

So lets get on with it.  As you can see by the title of this blog post I am writing a post for the Sunshine Blogger Awards.

I was nominated by the lovely Stephanie Jay who can be found at her blog here.

This award goes to bloggers who are positive, inspiring and bring a little bit of sunshine into people’s lives.  I’m really touched that Paige thought to nominate me, so thank you very much!
Rules:
  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you by linking their blog.
  2. Answer the questions.
  3. Nominate 11 blogs with 11 questions.
  4. List the rules as well as displaying the Sunshine Award logo on your post
Questions:

  • What was the last picture you took on your phone?
The last picture I took on my phone was one for my next blog post that will be up very soon so I don't want to place it on this post. Its of snacks.

  • What made you start a blog?
I personally love to write, it's just something that I love to do and I just wanted to share everything that comes into my small head with people of the internet. It really started when for my college course, I had to write a blog post for one of my assignments.

  • What do you enjoy most about blogging?
Being free to write anything I have ever wanted to write and not have people stop me and getting the opportunity to make other friends who enjoy the same passion as I do.

  • Which three famous people would you invite to a dinner party and why?
Probably Andy Samberg, because I am obsessed with Brooklyn 99 right now and he's just hilarious, Sarah Jessica Parker because she's one of my idols and probably Nina Dobrev because I couldn't help but love her.
  • Which two makeup products could you not live without?
Mascara because it makes me look slightly more awake and Lipstick, makes me feel much more alive.
  • What’s your favourite film?
Oh what a hard question, I literally couldn't answer this but as of right now, my favourite movie has to be Kingsman: The Secret Service.

  • Where would you go if you could go anywhere in the world?
New York City! Because this is my bucket list goal to go and I love the city and wish I could go there so much.

  • What is your dream job?
Honestly, something to do with Theatre, either an actress or working in Theatre that's all that matters to me.

  • Have you been/are you at University?
I am currently a University Student, I love it so far, it's interesting. I study Business and Management which is very interesting.

  • If you were an animal what would you be?
A Koala because they look so cuddly and I just love them.

  • What’s the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome?
Probably moving out of home and going to university, and believing it's okay to be single and also just because I am not always invited places doesn't mean I am not wanted within some of my university friends.

The Questions I am giving you:

  1. Why did you start your blog?
  2. What are three things you couldn't live without?
  3. What is your favourite shop?

So first off welcome back to my blog, I am very happy to be writing again and excited to announce here as i haven't done so here yet unlike I have on Twitter and Instagram. But after long decisions, I have finally started a YouTube channel which you can find here. Would love it if you checked it out and maybe subscribed.

So for this post I have decided to write something I have been wanting to right for ages and this really is for me mainly but for other people out there who felt the same as me about being single when seeing others happy in a relationship, then maybe this will help you.

Recently, well when I say recently I mean more like for the past couple of years or so, I have felt lonely, felt like I need a guy in my life, I need to be in a relationship, I shouldn't be single. Then I always asked myself how comes I am single? What's wrong with me? Am I ugly? Am I boring? Why is everyone else around me getting in relationships but I'm not? And honestly it really disheartened me for such a long time.

It took me a long time to believe that I could be single and being single is great, but then I realised, I'm only 22, I don't need to be in a relationship, I just need to be myself, be independent and be happy to be single because honestly you only get one shot at your twenties, might as well make the most of them and if you're spending all your time hung up over the fact that you're single then you're not going to make the most of them, instead you're just going to spend all your time wishing for something that won't come along.

I know it's a cringey and old time saying, but I believe that it's true, the fact that when you're not looking and not waiting, someone will eventually come along, when you're ready. If you're lucky you might meet them when you're in early twenties, in your teens but sometimes you just might meet them in your late twenties or early thirties, and you know what, that's okay.

Now I know it's tough seeing your friends in a relationship and cuddling up, even seeing anyone walking hand in hand together and you can sometimes think I just wish for that. But there is always time for it, the more you go looking for it, you could find the wrong guy and end up getting badly hurt but if you wait for it to happen, you might find the right person and be genuinely happy.

There is NOTHING wrong with being single. It's actually perfectly fine to be single and a lot more normal then you think. It's actually fun and once you fully indulge the single life you can have so much fun. If you have watched how to be single then you know doing things on your own really helps. Also spend time with friends and just have a laugh it's fun. When you go out with friends for nights out or anywhere, just go and have fun, don't go looking for a guy or a potential partner, it will get you feeling very low if you do look for one and don't get one and you don't need that. Also like in sex and the city, surround yourself with great friends and make them your family and love them because real and true friends will be by your side all the time.

So pretty much all I am saying live the single life right and have fun. That's what I am planning to do!

....Or your young life or just any time of your life.

So as you can see I have been gone for way too long and I have had the idea for this post for two months. But I thought since I have come to university, I have been doing a lot more to enjoy my time when I am not in lectures or doing work and thought I would give a little over view of things you can do to enjoy your time.

  • Black Coat: New Look - Originally £49.99, Now £25.00 (Either the same or Similar)
  • Scarf: New Look - £10.00 (I have had it for about 2 years now)
  • Jenna Ripped Jeans - New Look - £15.99
  • Boots - Shoe Zone - 19.99
  • Bag - Bags ETC - 13.99
Walks along the Beach/Walks in General
I mean first off for the beach, in this weather we have right now, walks on the beach are kind of, very cold but living by the beach makes me want to go for walks there more often. Even though it has been pretty cold, walking on the beach with friends can be very fun and you can make so many different memories whilst just walking on the beach. Walking on the beach on your own is also very therapeutic. If you haven't got a beach to walk on, then just going for walks, they can be very nice and relaxing and fun as well.
Going to the Pub
Now I know not everyone is legal to drink, but if you are, just a nice simple night going to the local pub whether its a wetherspoons or a more fancy pub. Having a few drinks and a chat or catch up is always nice, it's very nice to spend time with friends over a drink.
Clubbing
This is another thing that is like going to the pub but it doesn't allow you to do much talking, there is a lot of music and dancing that you can't really talk. But if you're legal to drink and go to a club then I definitely thing this is a fun one off chance you can go in a week or maybe once a month depending on how much money you have.
Coffee Shops or Dessert Trips
Going out for coffee with friends is always relaxing and fun, or even going there and doing work can always been used as relaxing and always nice to go and do work and have a cup of coffee and even spend time with friends as it's always a good place for friends to catch up if you haven't seen each other in a while.
Events going on with Friends
Where ever you are, I am sure there are events you wish to go to whether they are close by or not, why not go with your friends, if they are close by then you can go out and have some fun and get there and back easily. Yet, if it is further away you can enjoy the journey with your friends and making even more memories. For me, events I have experienced with friends especially recently, was Firework Night which was really nice and relaxing and chilled because it was a night with no drinking but with some of my closest friends and having a laugh. Another one was Chinese New Year, I mean I'm not Chinese and I have never experienced Chinese New Year before but fortunately my friend was in the show that was going on near my university halls so me and my flatmates went to watch and it was very relaxing and fun to see what they do in the Culture. It's very easy to find some simple but fun events going on you can do with friends.
Movie Nights & Chilled Nights in with Friends.
Going back to being a teenager but it's something that'll never get old, is Movie Nights, even at university, getting a group of friends together for an evening to take a break from work and stress, and put on movies and get snacks and chill, it's very relaxing but very fun as well.
Society Nights Out (Specifically for Uni Students)
This one is mainly for university students, but join Societies, mainly because one night a week, you will make new friends and you'll also have a lot of fun. What's even better is their nights out, for example with my show choir, we went to a place called Playzone, which was really fun and actually a much better way to make new friends.
Doing things out of your comfort zone
One main thing I have to say is do things out of you comfort zone, you'll make new memories and the whole point of living your life is to make the most of it, so don't spend it sitting doing nothing and regretting it all.

Well Howdy and Hello, welcome to another blog post, another University Post, this time its my Halls Room Tour. Although it's not the biggest of rooms it's very cosy. Being at University in first year, you don't get the biggest choice in Halls but with what you get it's very handy and you get what you need. I was very lucky to have an en-suite room, which means I have a shower and toilet connected to my room and I don't have to share a bathroom with anyone.

Of course there isn't much you can do with a student room, but you can make it look like home. In the pictures below you will see what my room looks like.

As you can see from the pictures here you can see that I have made my room look homely  that makes me feel comfortable. The photo wall is my favourite thing because all the pictures are memories of things that happened at home.

As of now that is the end of this post and I hope you enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.

So for this post I decided to do something different, I have decided to sum up my experience of University so far, I know I have been here for nearly a month, but I have had experiences that I never thought I would have until I got here and for once I decided I will post about my experience so far because it's been a great time so far.

When people tell you Uni will be the best experience of your life, I never believed them and I am not one hundred percent sure right now since it's only been a month. One thing I will say since being here, I have made more more memories then I have ever made and I literally don't know how much I can talk or preach about how much I have loved my experience so far. I will try to narrow it down as much as I can to the memories I have made so far.

Freshers Week!

Let's start with the week every first year will say they wish they could repeat and do again! I mean I definitely wish I could relive that week already and it has only been nearly three weeks ago. Let's start with the beginning, I moved in on the Saturday before Freshers started on the Sunday! So once my final flatmate moved in on the Sunday we were all prepared to go out to the club right opposite our flat. So we had pre's, just the three of us in our kitchen and well let's just say I drank way to much before we made it to the club, and before I could get there I was sick, so I missed the first night out and the second night out. Then we were going to go out the Tuesday night but my flat mate had a messy night out the Monday night that he was't really feeling like going out so instead we had a movie night. So finally the Wednesday night, after my flat mate had made a friend in the other block of our flat so we went to pre's with them and finally, I MADE IT OUT!  We went to PRYSM and honestly I made a new group of friends alongside my flat mates and I honestly had the best time out in a long time. Freshers lasted about two weeks, although on the second week, it didn't have many freshers events, it was still classed as Freshers Fortnight. I spent from the Wednesday to the Saturday drinking and going out and it was definitely eventful but it was the best time I had.

Although Freshers week was amazing, there was definitely some downfalls about those weeks, mainly the part that it wears you out, it makes you so tired that you could spend an entire week in bed if it wasn't for the fact that I had to get up for lectures during the week unfortunately. Also Freshers Flu is a thing, and I am still suffering from it but only with a bad throat but honestly that's all I can think is the bad thing about freshers week because in all honesty, it's the best way to get used to being away from home and meet new friends.

Living Away from Home

Living away from home is a scary thought and I know that, during the week of getting ready to go and was packing to move away, I was panicking, partly about being away from home and my parents and also because I was worried about making friends with my flat mates and other people in the university. By the time I got there it was such a shock at how quickly I settled in, the first day was half emotional, half exciting. Now, I literally dislike going home, I went home for a night and hated it and I have definitely settled in. I would like to say that I have been able to get used to it on my own, but my flat mates have made me feel more comfortable about living away from home.

If you're like me and you get worried about being away from your parents and friends and everything and you're worried that you won't make friends, I can garentee you guys that once you're there it becomes easier, because you're all in the same boat which means you'll make friends with people. The more friends you make the more easier it is at Uni, trust me, be open to meeting new people making new friends and eventually you will feel more comfortable and like it is your home, so when you go home you'll end up wishing you were back at university and not there. There's me already worrying what will happen when I end up graduating and not living at Uni and I have at least another two years to go and I have only been at uni a month now so let's put it this way it has become my home now and I love it.

REMEMBER:  If you ever do get home sick, then plan a trip home, have something to look forward to. Also phone your parents and friends and keep in contact, the more you do that, the less home sick you'll feel. Remember your friends and family want what's best for you, but they will also understand you feeling homesick when you're away from home for about 8-9 months out of the year.

Starting the Course

Now this is where we have to remember I came to uni to get a degree not just a great time and a great night life. I am studying Business and Management and although it will definitely be a great degree to graduate uni with, it's definitely not easy and it's definitely not easy to get back into the swing of education after a year out, not saying I regret having a gap year, I definitely needed it, but getting back into the hang of remembering to do work at home is hard but as time has gone by I am kind of getting in to the swing of it.  My one main thing of advice for you is make friends with people on your course, that way you know one, you have people you have something common with and you can talk to, also if you are stuck if you're friends with them, they are likely to lend you a hand. I have made a few friends on my course and I am happy that I have, I literally enjoy going to class sometimes just to see them so it is worth making friends with people on your course as well as outside of it.

Having Fun

This is actually something a few of my lecturers have said, as much as you come to university and you are paying a lot of money to be here, make sure you have fun in your first year. One thing that I have learnt in the last few weeks is going out in the middle of the week isn't a bad thing, and it lets you have fun and make new friends. Also might make you make a few little mistakes, either ones you'll regret or ones that you will be grateful for, whether that is making out with a guy or something even more, it definitely is worth making those mistakes because you're only young once. Think about it, where do you want to be in ten years, Do you want a family? Because if you do, then you won't be able to go out making out with a ton of guys and having as much fun as you are now. Do you want to have a successful job? That means more time is spent working then going out for fun. So make the most of it whilst you can because there will be a time when that all changes.

Would I recommend University to Others

Honestly I know over a two years ago now I was adamant that I wasn't going to ever come to uni, and now here I am. I mean it's obviously a personal choice, but I definitely think it is something everyone should experience, there will be challenges but there will also be good times and I honestly know that it is going to be an experience that will change my life. If you're looking for the chance to become independent, make new friends that could possibly be your life long friends, learn something new and just have a great time then I think it is worth coming to.

So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it.

After what seems like forever since I last posted a blog post, I am finally writing and it's definitely a simple blog post. After watching my favourite youtuber Caitlin Rose's video that can be found here about 19 things learnt by 19, I decided to do 21 things I learnt by 21. Also read till the end as I am going to explain a few things after.

21 THINGS I LEARNT BY 21

  1. It's okay to be selfish sometimes in order to make yourself happy, even if it means letting others down sometimes.
  2. It's okay not to be okay all the time, you don't have to be happy and feeling okay all the time, you are allowed to have days when you're feeling down.
  3. You don't have to do everything your friends are doing, just because their things seem fun, you don't actually have to do the things they are if you don't want to or feel like it.
  4. You can't please everyone, even if you want to, you're not going to be able to make everyone happy.
  5. A relationship isn't everything and you don't need a man in your life, it's nice to have them there but you don't need them, it's about being independent.
  6. Just because you're best friends with someone doesn't mean they will always willingly open up about everything that's going on with them and you can't force them to either all you can do is be there for them and support them and let them know that you are there if they ever want to talk.
  7. That you can't get everything you want just by asking, you have to work for it and then earn it and it means a lot more.
  8. Not all friendships will last forever and you can't expect it too, you can just try to make them work.
  9. You will argue with friends, boyfriends, parents, and other people, it's not always going to be simple, people are going to disagree with you no matter who they are.
  10. Even if you say you don't care when you're in an argument and you don't feel bad or guilty for anything in an argument, the truth is you do and you're lying to yourself saying you don't.
  11. True friends will last forever whilst boys will come and go - refer to a sex and the city quote!
  12. Just because you're best friends doesn't mean you will see each other all the time and that's okay, you're busy, you've grown up, it's not like school when you see each other every day for five days in a row.
  13. Life will never be simple even when we want it too as it's always throwing challenges our way and it's up to us to try and conquer those challenges.
  14. When people say you need a job, you need to find a job, remember just because people say that doesn't mean it's easy to get a job.
  15. Everyone expects you to know what you want to do when you get older but the truth is, it's okay not to know.
  16. You won't look like your idol actress and you don't need to, you just need to look like yourself.
  17. Always be yourself, you shouldn't have to act like someone you're not just to fit in and make friends, you will find friends who appreciate you for who you are.
  18. If you're happy with your weight then you don't have to change it because other people tell you that you should. And other peoples comments on your weight shouldn't even be something that makes you want to lose weight.
  19. It's okay to make mistakes, everyone does, and without those mistakes you wouldn't be where you are today.
  20. Never expect anything, the least expectations you have the better things will be because you've stopped things are going to be amazing.
  21. The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love and be loved in return.

So now for a little update: First of all, I am sorry for the unfrequent posts on here, sometimes it has been hard to find motivation to write and i just don't want to post things that I am not proud of. Second of all, I am off to university very soon, so I am kind of hoping to have more posts up within the next year, but they will again start off a little slow. Thirdly, I am very much thinking of buying a domain name but I am very unsure so if anyone out there thinks it would be a good idea then I would really love your feedback.

So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.

Well although this blog post is long overdue, I am finally here, sitting here, writing it for you lovely guys to read it. I have decided for this next post that I would try my hardest to do my morning routine, the only thing I left out was my make up routine, since once I have found a good one to do, I will write another post on that. And also since I don't often wear make up, since I work most of the time, I didn't think about doing it for this post. Now enough for the rambling, let's get on with the post.

1. Wake Me Up With Coffee

When waking up in the morning, I have a bad habit, it probably is as I tend to drink about three cups of coffee in a morning. But the first thing I do is get up, go to the kitchen all half asleep and make a cup of coffee, even whilst making a little mess on the side before getting shouted at for forgetting to clean up the mess. Although the coffee doesn't really wake me up, it usually makes me feel good or it at least tastes good that makes me want to drink it every morning.

2. Fill Me Up Smoothie

This isn't really an everyday thing, it's more of a most of the week thing but some mornings I forget to be honest. Smoothies are something i love to make, I don't make it straight after my coffee I usually wait about 30-40 minutes before I get up and make it but then I still won't drink it for a while after that. I tend to love to make a mango, strawberry and banana smoothie, sometimes I will add something else, for example a kiwi or pineapple chunks or something different.

3. Freshen Up the Skin

It's always hard to remember to start my day off with skin care, I mean it's not the most exciting part of the day am I right? But after you have done the skin care, then the face feels super fresh and awake and I have noticed the more I do this the more awake I feel within a day. And no this is not an ad or sponsored by Simple, Simple has just been my go to skin care for the last few days and I feel that it is very good for my skin. I start with the Facial Wash, then the Cleanser then the Toner and then the Moisturizer. Then I put some lip balm on which is the Nivea soothing balm. Finally Aveeno is used for the rest of my body as it also helps with my eczema.

4. Cleaning the Teeth

Another part of the normal day to day routine that isn't that interesting and exciting is the time when you have to clean your teeth, I mean I am not the best at making sure I get up to do it. But once the teeth are cleaned, don't you feel like your really refreshed and ready to make the day.

5. Smelling Great
The last thing on my list is to make sure I smell good before I get dressed wherever I go I make sure that I chose my favourite smells. So right now my favourite smells apart from the dove deodrant, is the Jack Wills Spray in Hope Cove and Ariana Grande's latest perfume. Once that is all done, I am ready to go out and go to work or go out shopping or where ever.

So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.
