Amelia Talks

Well Hello and welcome back to my blog, it's been a while since I have posted and I am finally glad to be back writing again for you. This one isn't beauty but it is more what I call lifestyle and more just about something I love. It's very easy to find something you can be addicted to but it's very hard to get out of it, which is why for such a long time I avoided getting Netflix because I for one knew what I was like when it came to watch films and television series's.

It's easy to say I like this and I like that, but getting hooked on something that you can't stop watching is when there's a problem and it isn't good when you have a job to go to that you shouldn't be staying up to the ridiculous time of the morning, let's say 3 am watching a television series, to then get up for a 9am shift at work. It's good to know you hve something to watch but it's not always good when your not sleeping because of it, but at least you know one thing, you're not wasting the £6 you are spending each month for a Netflix Subscription.

So if you hadn't guessed the subject of my blog post today is Netflix and what I am loving on Netflix.

A couple  of years ago I remember everyone talking about how great Netflix was and I was just not budging and not falling for it and didn't bother to even give it a try so I went without it. How I don't know but i just watched my TV series's through DVD. It took me too long to even get Netflix, but in September 2016, I had decided to give Netflix a shot, thinking I wouldn't like it, but once I downloaded it, I started watching and got addicted to the sight. It literally is great for whether you have had a bad day and just want to relax, or just ot put on because you don't know what else to do or if you want something to watch whilst doing course work or like me right now whilst writing a blog post.

Now after rambling on about why I love Netflix, I have decided to add what television series I am loving, I will add at least three or four otherwise we could be here for a while.

First off - Thirteen Reasons Why

I know this is really recent but I recently started and although I am only on about the fourth episode i am hooked and literally love it. I know it's a triggering subject which is why I am not going to talk about it much. But one thing i love is that it keeps you intrigued, you can't guess the reason straight away, unlike some shows, you don't get many that you can't guess what is going to happen, like it's unpredictable.

Secondly - Pretty Little Liars

Although i had four of the seasons on DVD before hand, I had only got up to season 3, well half way through season 3. By the time I got Netflix I went straight in to continue watching the series, and although i have my times when I don't want to sit and watch it, it is by far my favourite series to watch on Netflix, I mean I already half of what happens in Series 6 and 7 but I now need to catch up between the series.

Thirdly - The Big Bang Theory

I am well aware this show has been going or a long while and I have watched it on TV before but I have no clue what series but in the end once i got Netflix I decided to start watching it from series one, and honestly ts such a great show to sit and watch when you've had a long day at work that I literally love to sit and watch it whenever I can.

Finally - Once Upon a Time

This show was something I took a wing on, thinking it wasn't going to be that good, thinking I wasn't going to like it and didn't think I was going to get hooked. As soon as I started watching i was hooked, I got through two seasons in a matter of two weeks pretty much, and well I just fell in love with the show straightaway. The stories that are told in it, I love Emma Swan and Captain Hook together. And all I say, is if you haven't watch the series yet, then you really should.

Welcome back to my blog my lovelies, for once I am back with a make up review post, instead of some kind of life advice post that I probably have no clue what I am talking about. Now I am not the perfectionist on make up but lipsticks is something that I am quite used to and I think I can talk about.

Products mentioned in this post:
  • Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour - Devotion 600
  • Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour - Flirtation
  • Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour - Addiction
Liquid Lipsticks are something I fell in love with when I tried them, I never thought I would, I didn't think they would be good. With normal lipsticks I find they last for a few hours and then come off after a few sips of a drink and a few bits to eat and you don't have anything left on your lips. WIth the Liquid Lipsticks, yes you have a reapply it after a while but now as much as lipstick and it looks amazing and they just look amazing on your lips.
One thing I have noticed from these lipsticks is that with them, they re very moisturising on the lips, there's been a lot of times I have forgotten to put lip balm on to sooth my lips and i have found these liquid lipsticks have been very moisturising on my lips and helping them as well.

Another good thing about these liquid lipsticks is the pigmentation, with some lipsticks, they show one colour but when you use them, they don't come out the colour you expect them to or what it looks like. With this, the colours you see in the packaging is the colour that appears on your lips as well.

I definitely recommend these Revlon Liquid Lipsticks for those reasons and they are just so nice, I wouldn't say they are on the pricey side, but they are definitely a bit more pricey then some other lipstick, they are £8.99 from Superdrug. If I had to choose a favourite at the moment, it would be Addiction. Which is more a dark plummy colour then what it shoes in the picture.

So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.

Well Hello and Welcome back to my Blog in the New Year, I figured with it being the new year that I would reflect on 2016 and my wishes for 2017. 2016 was a great year it was a quick year or it felt like it was over in a second, so many amazing things happened yet it also felt like it could have dragged on for a long time.

2016 Reflections

Going to do this in a bullet point list since I don't want to be rambling on forever as I feel like I could be doing that. Also i am not sure if this i s going to be a long list, not many things happened in 2016 from what I can remember but I'll try my best to remember.

  • Left College with a triple Distinction in June.
  • Kept a lot of friends from college.
  • Became slightly more sociable.
  • Completed my Scrapbook.
  • Decided I wanted to go to Uni and Visited my first choice University.
  • Started watching Once Upon a Time
(Said there wasn't many i could remember but I am working on remembering.)

2017 Wished

Again I am going to do this in Bullet Points but I think I have more predictions or hopes for this year then most years. Also at least one  of these wishes have actually happened since I started writing this in January and it's now the 1st Feb because I was procrastinating too much.
  • Have a good 21st Birthday - Well that's happened now.
  • Use my blog more
  • Go See Wicked Again
  • Go See Phantom of the Opera
  • Go See Les Miserables
  • Go See Dream Girls
  • Go See Hamilton when it comes out in the UK (probably won't happen if you ask me)
  • Go See Ed Sheeran live at the O2
  • Work more hours
  • Prepare for Uni.
  • Go to Uni in September 2017

So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.

Oh and welcome back to my blog, it's been a while I know, but I didn't know what to post until this hit me. I'm a 20 year old girl, I am no longer a student, I am almost 21 and have no clear idea for my future. Remember at School when your teacher tells you that you need to have an idea of your future job and people come up with ideas that they want to be a "Teacher" or a "Lawyer" or a "Footballer" or an "Actress" or a "Technician" or even a "Chef." But the thing is at a young age as even 20, how can you be so sure of what you want to do or be in the future or where you want to be in the future when everything is changing? How do you make up your mind of where you want to be in ten years from now? Why do people expect you to make up your mind when you're only young? How do people expect you to make up you mind of what you want to do when the world is continuously change?

What I think is that when anyone tells you or asks you what you want to do in the future, you take that quote from Twilight: Eclipse, as cheesy as it might sound, " Change your mind. Then change it again because nothing is permanent. So make as many mistakes as you can. That way, someday, when they ask again what we want to be. We won't have to guess. We'll know." As much as it sounds cheesy, it's right, we're young and there is never a definite answer of what you wish to do.

From the top picture, you can see three things, one of them includes University of Sussex, no I am not currently at University but I have plans to go next year. This will link back to making mistakes and everything changes, if you asked me a year ago like my college teacher if I wanted to go to university, you would have got the answer of No, I just want to go into full time work. Then Summer came around and everything changed, including my thoughts about going to Uni, I realized I wanted something new and then going around the University I have wanted to go to since I was 16 before I decided I didn't want to go Uni, I fell in love with the university and everything around it, then I realized I wanted to go to Uni for real and experience the independent life.

Another part of the picture is two retail stores, if you didn't know before I have been working at Shoe Zone, I have been working there for two years now and I absolutely love it, even though it's tough and annoying and not the best pay, working there has made me feel part of a family and close friends. Recently the managers daughter has started and I am super glad to work with her because she's definitely fun to work with. But to be honest I couldn't imagine myself not working there. Then there's Bags ETC, I recently started working there and as much as it's different to shoe zone and I am still working there, it's still something I am enjoying.

All I am trying to say is don't let people tell you that you need to define your future because of all this , it's your future not anyone elses and you need to remember that. It took me a long time to realize that I needed to stop making other people proud and to try and make myself proud, so now I have more confidence in myself and now I am feeling more free and excited for my future.

So thats the end of my story and although it's tough, I hope everyone can learn to make their future their own.

So this is a little different to my usual blog posts but i am finally getting back into writing and I feel as if I just need to write about what I feel so we'll see what's next up. I kind of feel like I'm writing like Carrie Bradshaw.

So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.

So I need to make a massive apology, i am aware I haven't posted in a long time and I am briefly going to explain why. My problem is that I have been trying to find a job yet I am struggling with all that as I don't know what kind of job I am looking for and I am thinking about Uni now but in all honesty, I have no clue what I want to do in the future now, and i don't know if I should continue working towards being an actor or not because that was always my dream but I was too scared to try and pursue it that I don't know. I'm just dealing with the struggles of being uncertain about my future.

That's all I really have to say.

Slight Update:

I am working on things to put on this blog to make it more active and I want to revamp it a little bit so I will get round to making this blog more like I want it to be like.
Well Hello there lovely people of the internet, I have noticed it's been a long while since my last blog post and there's one big reason as to why I haven't, I have been very busy over the last few months with college work and work and trying to chose what I am going to do in the future once I finish college in a couple of months time. I am aiming to get a blog post up when I have the time too.

So now after that little ramble and update and apology, I have decided to give a little lifestyle post, and as you can see by the title it's called Study Tips. Considering I have been in four years of college education, five years of secondary school education and I won't count primary because to be honest I didn't really learn much about studying in primary school, I think I have a good range of tips that have helped me and might help you.

Tip Number 1 - Keep some kind of drink near you.
A drink I find really helps give me energy and motivation to carry on with my work during the day, I highly suggest water, one of the biggest reasons for this is water surprisingly gives you more energy then you'd expect, I have drunk four bottles of water in a matter of a day whilst doing course work. Another drink I suggest slightly because I think I have an addiction to it, is coffee, just because I do love to drink it and it does wake me up.

Tip Number 2 - Write notes
I find writing down all my notes, of what I have to do and when the work is in and notes about that piece of work really helps me get on with the work as I can just get on with the work and look at the notes that I already have. It is a really good way of helping your brain work and get motivated.

Tip Number 3 and Final Tip - Music

My final tip would be set up a playlist of all songs that you like to listen to that will help you get on with work, and even if you are at home in your room, I will always advise putting the headphones in because they really help me focus compared to just playing the music out loud. Any headphones will work, I do tend to use my FRENDS headphones, I love them so much and they are so worth the buy even though they are expensive. I used to use my skull candy headphones that I still have and I love too.

So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.
